• Salary (Un-paid – out of pocket expenses reimbursed)
• Location Leigh, Lancashire, North West
• Role Type Voluntary
• Category Trustees
Role Description
(Un-paid – out of pocket expenses reimbursed)

Leigh Building Preservation Trust(LBPT) is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee. The Trustees of the charity are also directors of the company, and the Board of Trustees currently meets monthly. Established in 2013, the organisation’s initial project is the regeneration of Leigh Spinners Mill, a Grade II* Listed Mill in Leigh, Lancashire. The charity has already delivered a £380k refurbishment project on the mill’s engine house and is responsible for the ongoing refurbishment of the unique steam engine. The next phase of the development will see the twin mill buildings regenerated into a vibrant mix of leisure, business, community and sport uses.

We wish to recruit four new members to join our eight-strong Board of Trustees.

This is an exciting time of growth and development for LBPT and, to help us meet the challenges ahead, we are seeking to recruit a number of high calibre individuals who will help shape our strategic direction and contribute to our future success.
You would need to be able to make a commitment to LBPT and devote the necessary time, have strategic vision, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind. Ideally, the new trustees will also have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Finance, Bookkeeping or Accountancy
• Legal background with experience of the Companies Acts and Charities Acts
• Property development and commercial letting
• Fundraising in the charitable sector
This is not an exhaustive list, and more information on each role is available in the Application Pack available by emailing:
